Kings Express Freight has invested heavily into IT solutions for various areas of our business.  Although our foundations are “old school”, IT has given us the opportunity to build on this philosophy and offer a more sophisticated service to our valued customers.

Parcel Perfect software forms the heart of our operation. With this advanced software, we are able to perform detailed track and trace as well as in-depth customer analysis on a per customer basis.  This is essential in a day and age where KPI’s form an integral part of the service customers require. 

Through this technology, POD’s and GRV’s are available within hours of delivery, a must when taking cash flow improvement into account.   A wide range of in house systems are available, from the most basic of information capture and dumping through to a link into the network to facilitate on site live capture.

In the fleet department we utilise software called Freeway which helps us manage our workshops and fleet maintenance. Our vehicles are all fitted with systems from Tracker and utilise Skytrax to track our vehicles in real time.  We are also able to download reports should there be any incidents on the road.

Driver Check assists by making it possible for concerned members of the public to report any bad driving they may experience from our vehicles, it also gives the public an opportunity to commend good driving which we believe is equally important.

Our Cape Town depot is monitored and recorded 24 hours a day 7 days a week by CCTV surveillance systems, the roll out plan for the rest of the branches will be completed by the end of the year. These systems allow us to view any of our depots from anywhere an internet connection is available.

We are in the process of testing and implementing a biometric time and attendance register, in order to better manage wages and overtime.

For reliability of our IT infrastructure we use only Cisco equipment and have onsite IT Management to ensure no downtime is kept to a bare minimum.  Having an in house IT department allows us to take care of all these systems right from cabling installations to software development.
